چکیده

A/D converters used in instrumentation and measurements often require high absolute accuracy, including high linearity and negligible DC offset. The incremental (or integrating) converter provides a solution for such measurement applications, as it has all the advantages of the ∆Σ (Delta-Sigma) converter, yet is capable of offset-free and accurate conversion. In this conference paper, theoretical and practical aspects of higher-order incremental converters are discussed. Operating principles, topologies and specialized digital filter design methods are addressed. The theoretical results are verified by showing design examples and simulation results.

Theory and applications of incremental ΔΣ converters

Analog–Digital (A/D) converters used in instrumentation and measurements often require high absolute accuracy, including very high linearity and negligible dc offset. The realization of high-resolution Nyquist-rate converters becomes very expensive when the resolution exceeds 16 bits. The conventional delta–sigma ( ) structures used in telecommunication and audio applications usually cannot sat...

Incremental Data Converters

Incremental data converters (IDCs) are high-accuracy oversampled analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). They form a special subclass of the commonly used delta-sigma ADCs. Unlike the latter, IDCs are only operated intermittently, typically for a few hundred clock periods, and hence they possess only a finite memory. They offer advantages in high accuracy, stability, absence of idle tones, low pow...

SLIDING MODE CONTROL BASED ON FRACTIONAL ORDER CALCULUS FOR DC-DC CONVERTERS

The aim of this paper is to design a Fractional Order Sliding Mode Controllers (FOSMC)for a class of DC-DC converters such as boost and buck converters. Firstly, the control lawis designed with respect to the properties of fractional calculus, the design yields an equiv-alent control term with an addition of discontinuous (attractive) control law. Secondly, themathematical proof of the stabilit...

Investigation of Novel Transformerless Converters for DC Microgrid: Design and Analysis

This paper proposes two new soft-switching transformerless converters with high voltage conversion ratio. These proposed converters achieve soft-switching each with a single auxiliary resonant cell. The merit of these converters is reduced switching losses with lesser number of devices. The main switching devices are turned off with zero current switching (ZCS). Apart from the soft-switching fe...

Fractional order Adaptive Terminal Sliding Mode Controller Design for MPPT in a Solar Cell under Normal and Partial Shading Condition

In this paper, by combining fractional calculus and sliding mode control theory, a new fractional order adaptive terminal sliding mode controller is proposed for the maximum power point tracking in a solar cell. To find the maximum power point, the incremental conductance method has been used. First, a fractional order terminal sliding mode controller is designed in which the control law depend...
